During the Coronavirus pandemic, many players have undergone weight loss journeys to use their time to get fit and healthy ahead of long days on ProTours and other tournaments,
Jermaine Wattimena is one of those players.
Wattimena spoke recently to Tungsten Tales and revealed his incredible four stone weight loss and how everything is geared towards the long ProTour days.
"Most people know my priority was losing weight, get healthy and I hope that I will qualify for the World Matchplay later this year. Hopefully the next ProTours will be good as well," said Wattimena to Tungsten Tales.
"Everything will be more easier, my weight was too much and you have to feel fit. The ProTours I see myself that I'm not tired anymore after the match or when you have to play a lot of games in a day, it feels a lot better than before."
"I started January and it's now May, four and a half months it is. I will keep going with it and hopefully lose some more weight."
"It's important because we wake up early and you have whole day to play darts. When you hit the semi-final and final, you'll be busy for four or five hours maybe longer. You need that energy to stand up for that next game."
"I feel the difference, only what I feel now is that the balance is different. Practice is still going well and hopefully I can do that on the next ProTours."
