Peter Wright claimed
Players Championship 2 seeing off his great rival Gerwyn Price and 'Snakebite' has his 43rd PDC title and could become World Number One shortly.
Wright spoke afterwards about facing Price in the final as well as how again he had issues with his darts but still went on to win.
"I'm very happy to get the win today, especially against a player of the class of Gezzy," said Wright.
"Yesterday seemed a lot easier. Today I was stuck in that corner board and obviously there is a draught and I struggled and the darts were going in at stupid angle. So I had to switch in the Last 16 to my old darts because my old ones were winding me up."
On the World Number One spot, he said he wasn't expecting to claim it until next month.
"I weren't thinking till at least March anyway but I thought if I knuckle down to win tournaments, I'll get there sooner."
He also spoke on the World Seniors predicting Thornton would win which he did as well as on his focus.
"I'm more mentally focused than I've ever been. Phil (Taylor) was at the World Seniors and unfortunately the lack of competition practice showed, I think Robert Thornton is going to win it."
