Wright wants extension of Masters to 32 players and change to become ranking event

The Masters changed this year to a 24 player field which gleamed Jonny Clayton as the winner with both finalists not initially getting into the tournament in the original format.

Peter Wright has now called for the tournament to be extended to 32 players going forward and for it to become a ranking event to begin the season.

Currently, The Masters while being a televised title does not count towards the Order of Merit with the UK Open the first major of the year with ranking money.

But with the stakes being raised this year with the 10th Premier League spot being up for grabs for players with Clayton claiming it, if this continues, it could be a shrewd move to extend the line-up further.
