Tori Kewish was one of the top performers on Wednesday at the 2022 WDF
Lakeside World Championship dumping out top seed Deta Hedman who again had a barren year at the Frimley Green venue.
While Kewish continues to fly and will now face Lorraine Winstanley but in seeing off a crowd favourite, she was 'stoked'.
"It's hard going up there in front of everyone especially when you're playing an Englishperson but I just zoned out and got on with it and I'm stoked with the win to be honest," said Kewish to Tungsten Tales.
"My game scoring wise is better than anything. I have a pretty straight throw and I know my scoring is my strong part so once I get my doubles hitting, I know I can be a very good player because it's normally the doubles that let me down."
She has also Justin Thompson, Corrine Hammond and also Lorraine Hyde still at the Lakeside in order to support her and was glad to have that network of friends still there.
"Corrine (Hammond)'s drove two hours every game I've played, she's practiced with me. She's been a real great support network, Thommo's been here watching all my games and I've got all my Scottish friends as we knew Deta would be a crowd favourite."
In facing Lorraine Winstanley, she is part of the difficult half which features Mikuru Suzuki, Beau Greaves and she admits she will have to win it the hard way.
"I guess that's how you're supposed to do it the hard way. We'll see, I think if I play like that, I'll be happy."
