The eighth leg of the match proved to be the key moment of the game. Cross broke Cadby's throw with an 11-dart leg and won three legs on the spin for 6-3. The Australian youngster reduced the deficit after hitting double 16 for 6-4, but then saw Cross running further away to 9-4.
The former World Youth Championship had the change to stay in the match, but missed two doubles for 9-5. 'Voltage' had 25 left after twelve darts and hit single 9 and double 8 to take the win. The 27-year-old from Hastings will face Peter Wright or Raymond Smith in the semi-finals on Sunday.
