Anderson dumps out Van Gerwen, Clayton, Cross and Cullen move into Last 32

Gary Anderson has defeated Michael Van Gerwen in a ranking tournament for the first time since 2018 in moving through to the Last 32 of Players Championship 5.
Anderson averaged 97.8 in winning through 6-4 over Van Gerwen who has gone through a resurgence in recent weeks but that won’t include a ProTour today.
It could do though for Jonny Clayton, Rob Cross or Joe Cullen who have all moved through. While surprise runs for the likes of Andrew Gilding, Mike de Decker, Maik Kuivenhoven and Jeffrey de Zwaan continue.
With Scott Williams’ brilliance on the ProTour also continuing, he saw off Ryan Searle 6-5.
