Lisa Ashton takes title at first PDC Women's Series tournament of 2025

Lisa Ashton started the 2025 season of the PDC Women's Series in style by taking the title at the opening tournament. It is her eighteenth Women's Series title, putting her on par with Fallon Sherrock. Only Beau Greaves (28) won more titles than Ashton.
Top favourite Greaves was surprisingly eliminated at the last sixteen by Lorraine Winstanley, who had also grazed Sherrock a round earlier. Winstanley eventually lost in the semifinals to Gemma Hayter, who won over Noa-Lynn van Leuven (5-3) in the last eight.
Ashton faced a strong competitor early in the tournament. After beating Sarah Brown (4-0), Ashton faced Rhian O'Sullivan. However, the Dutch Open winner was brushed aside 4-3. Next, 'The Lancashire Rose' also triumphed against Snezana Veljkovic (4-1), Kirsi Viinikainen (5-1), Aileen de Graaf (5-3) and Gemma Hayter (5-2) to book the tournament victory.
How much prize money is up for grabs at the PDC Women's Series?
If there are at least 128 players competing, the PDC Women's Series participants will be awarded prizes from the last 64, with fifty pounds for reaching this round. If there are fewer than 128 players, the counter only starts running from the last 32. In that case they do collect one hundred pounds.
This amount eventually keeps increasing. A final place already earns 1,000 pounds anyway. The winner of the tournament receives 2,000 pounds in prize money. The number one of the Women's Series Order of Merit gets to compete at the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship, while the number two also gets to compete at Alexandra Palace.

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people.
