It is Saturday night at the
Dutch Darts Championship where the big names are involved and in particular a number of top Dutch darting talent including
Michael van Gerwen and
Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Van Gerwen has not been in great form for his standards anyway as of late being thrashed by Josh Rock 7-0 in the semi-finals last week in Graz as well as back-to-back early Premier League exits.
Including in Rotterdam against Nathan Aspinall so he will hope that this weekend in Leeuwarden sees a return to dominance. He faces a player very familiar to the
European Tour as the German number one, Gabriel Clemens.
Van Duijvenbode has emerged in recent months alongside MVG and Gerwyn Price as being seen as one of the best on planet darts and will look to continue that in a quick fire game with Dylan Slevin.
While the Dutch trio is rounded off by Berry van Peer. He faces Jonny Clayton. Other top ties include
Luke Humphries facing Ross Smith,
Peter Wright in a former European Tour staple will face Krzysztof Ratajski.
Michael Smith takes on Jim Williams, Aspinall will look to see off a resurgent Daryl Gurney. While instead of Raymond van Barneveld, it is Dimitri van den Bergh who faces Ryan Searle.
