Michael van Gerwen won his last group match against Joe Cullen on Thursday evening at the Grand Slam of Darts. Afterwards he also came back to the statements of Peter Wright.
Earlier this week, Wright said in an interview that, as far as he is concerned, only Gerwyn Price is a competitor for his world title, he does not take van Gerwen into account.

"Who still takes him seriously? They are just sad people who make those kinds of statements," said Van Gerwen at RTL 7.
The same Wright went out in the group stage at the Grand Slam of Darts. "Still, that doesn't put a smile on my face, I'm not going to lower myself to his level. Although his elimination is justified, Peter simply performed well below his normal level."
