Luke Littler dominated the WDF weekend in Bridlington. The 16-year-old super talent from England managed to win both singles tournaments and thus bid farewell to the WDF circuit in style.
Littler recently qualified for the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace via the PDC Development Tour and also has a Tour Card for the next two seasons in his pocket. Littler was still hoping to be in action at Lakeside in early December, but the PDC put a stop to that.
'The Nuke' had to choose and opted for the PDC. As a result, the British Classic and
British Open became his last WDF tournaments. There he showed once again why he is seen as the next big super talent.
First, he won the WDF British Classic. In his last three duels, Littler threw an average of well over a hundred each time. In the quarterfinals, Dylan Quinn was defeated 4-1 with an average of 101.54. In the semifinals, Littler even reached a monthly average of 113.43 per turn, leading to a 4-0 win over Tavis Dudeney. In the final, Carl Wilkinson was beaten 5-0 with an average of 105.85.
The British Open then also proved a triumph for Littler, who will also be in action at the final of the PDC World Youth Championship in late November. Among others, he defeated Jarred Cole (4-3), Mike Gillet (4-1) and Peter Jacques (5-2) to take the double in Bridlington.
