"Darts has been the most amazing bonus to my life": Mitchell still juggling farm and darts life, looks ahead to World Seniors Matchplay

Scott Mitchell will be in action next weekend at the World Seniors Matchplay. In the opening round, he will take on Paul Hogan.

Mitchell knows Hogan from his days in the BDO and is not looking past him. "Paul and I have played a few times over the years, and also had success together playing for England. I never look at the draw, I never look past the game in front of me," said Mitchell.

'Scotty Dog' lost his PDC Tour Card early this year but never lost faith that he would return to TV darts. "You always hope not, you have to be able to deal with the peaks and troughs of the game, I’m hoping to be on one of those peaks at the Matchplay."

Own farm

In addition to darts, Mitchell has his own farm. "I don’t think you can put a percentage on it as it changes with the seasons. farming is 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year, it’s what I was born to do, darts has been the most amazing bonus to my life that has gone very well for me. I’m very lucky that when I need to be on the oche my family and friends take over at the farm so I can go away worry-free and concentrate on what I do."
