Anderson not pleased with performance despite Van Gerwen win: "It's still not as good as I want it to be"

Gary Anderson subjected Michael van Gerwen to back to back Premier League defeats in as many nights in a brilliant 7-4 victory but despite that, 'The Flying Scotsman' wasn't 100% happy with his display.
Anderson said there were some parts of his game he was pleased; and that there were parts he wasn't but that he was glad to take the points haul.
"There were some good parts and I'm happy to take the two points because the table is so tight this year," said Anderson.
"Michael wasn't at his best tonight and didn't score like he can. I'm practising well; but it's still not as good as I want it to be when I get up on stage and I was a bit scratchy."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
