The JDC World Championship Trophy is set to be named after PDC co-founder Tommy Cox, it has been revealed.

Cox passed away following an illness in November last year at the age of 72. He was a former player's manager who linked up with Dick Allix and John Markovic alongside the 14 players to form the WDC now the PDC in 1993.
Following that he was tournament director in the PDC until 2015 when he retired making sure all PDC events ran to specification. He was also inducted into the PDC Hall of Fame alongside Allix in 2010.
This now recognises just a small amount of the contribution Cox made to darts and it is a great gesture by the Junior Darts Corporation.
