Noppert fights back to deny Krcmar, set to face Rydz after Whitlock win to reach maiden European Tour semi-final

The first semi-final is confirmed at the Dutch Darts Championship with Danny Noppert set to face Callan Rydz later this evening in Zwolle with the likelihood now increasing of a potential Dutch winner.

Noppert was facing Boris Krcmar in the opener and recovered from 5-3 down despite never facing match darts to deny 'The Biggest' a first European Tour semi-final in a 6-5 win.

'The Freeze' pounced after Krcmar couldn't finish 105 and he had double 20 remaining and took his shot to move through. Having reached the final in Graz earlier this season, he will get another shot for a maiden European Tour win potentially.

But while Krcmar couldn't break new ground, Rydz could as he ended the run of Simon Whitlock who was superb this weekend in a 6-3 win.

It was a 92 average, a high checkout of 100 and he held the edge on the doubles with Whitlock's four 180's confounded by 3/10 on the finishing and 'The Riot' will now aim to dampen home hopes when he faces Noppert later.
