Currently twelve rounds have been played in the Premier League Darts. Six with the presence of crowd and six behind closed doors.

After Night Six on March 12 in Liverpool, the Premier League Darts was interrupted following the outbreak of the corona vius. The Premier League Darts then resumed on August 25, but behind closed doors in Milton Keynes.
The presence of an audience brings out the best in some players. Other darts players feel more comfortable in a calm and quiet environment. But is that also reflected in the averages? PDC statistician Christopher Kempf shows it is.
Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen have indicated in recent weeks that the presence of an audience helps to bring out the best in themselves. Coincidentally, they are among the players whose averages have improved the least since the restart of the competition.
Van Gerwen's tournament average has even decreased, from 101.52 after six matches to 98.73 after twelve matches. Furthermore, only the tournament average of Daryl Gurney has decreased (from 93.14 to 93.02). The tournament averages of Aspinall (97.71 to 98.82) and Price (96.73 to 98.72) have increased slightly.
However, that increase is marginal compared to that of Glen Durrant, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright. For example, Durrant's tournament average rose from 95.34 to 101.36, an increase of more than six points. Anderson (+5.98) and Wright (+5.01) have also improved over five points. Michael Smith's tournament average has also improved. Bullyboy went from 96.10 to 98.34.
