"That really hurt" - Ian White determined not to miss out on World Championship for second straight year

Ian White is not currently experiencing the best period of his career. The 53-year-old Englishman has now dropped to 46th place in the world rankings.

White tried with new arrows this year, but it was not a success. "Unicorn want me to use a new set of darts and I tried it, just didn't feel confident with it at the moment," White told Darts Actueel. "But they've brought them out and I said; Well I'm just going to stick with my old ones for now."

'Diamond' is quietly trying to climb back up the world rankings. "But the older you get, the harder it gets. There's also more and more young talent on the Pro Tour, so it's definitely not getting easier. But I'm still enjoying the game."

White was absent at the last World Darts Championship for the first time since 2011. "That really hurt," he said. "This year my goal is to get there. I want to be there again this year. You have a good run in that and earn 50, 60, 70,000 and make a bad year into a good one."
