The final of the 30th Players Championship tournament of the season was between Steve Beaton and James Wade on Saturday night.
Wade had reached the final after victories over Gian van Veen (6-3), Jermaine Wattimena (6-5) and Martin Schindler (7-4), among others. Beaton was too strong en route to the final match over Mike de Decker (6-4), Stephen Bunting (6-4) and Dave Chisnall (7-4), among others.
