Peter Wright has said in a remarkable interview that you need a "big nappy" to become world champion. The two-time champion will begin his bid for his third world title in just over two weeks in London.
Recently, Wright was a guest at an evening with all 11 PDC world champions. There, "Snakebite" said some extraordinary things, Oche180 writes, including Wright telling them that he had to overcome his nerves before he could finally become world champion in 2019.
"You need a big nappy for the Worlds. It’s about shitting yourself on stage because of all that pressure. It’s pressure and when you are playing at the World Championship, you want to win that world title. It’s the pressure, the crowd behind you can be against you. Sometimes you feel it now and again."

I had watched other world champions like Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen get dragged through the media and other stuff you’ve got to do. I hate doing this sort of stuff. I’m really nervous but I’ve got better and better. Next time round when I got to the final, I asked myself ‘are you ready for all this?’ And I went ‘yes, I’m ready’,'' the Scottish dart player stated.
Wright also admitted that he had given the PDC the wrong bank account information to get his winnings. He joked about the fact that his wife Joanne manages all the accounts and that Wright gets pocket money to come up with fun things of his own.
''I was still on £200 a week. I won the Europeans and got fuck all. You should see the state of the trophy I got, oh my God,'' Wright recalled. "At the time I was in charge of the money and it wasn’t very good. I gave the PDC my bank details of where it was supposed to go into. That money went into cyber space because I got the digits wrong on the account number! The most extravagant thing I’ve ever bought? I bought a set of Phil Taylor darts, I’m not allowed to spend anything else!”
