White claims first win at World Darts Championship in four years, sets up tie with Anderson

Ian White has claimed his first win at the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship at four years with a 3-1 sets win over Chris Landman.

Next up, White will face his good friend, Gary Anderson after Christmas which he will enjoy darts wise for the first time in a long while.

In a scrappy opening set, White sealed it in a deciding leg with 60% on the doubles and a 91.3 average.

He wasn't hanging around increasing his averaged towards 95 as he went 2-0 up and was throwing for a two sets lead.

A 180 and 40 checkout saw White go 2-0 in sets up as he was coasting towards the third round.

A double 10 saw Landman go 2-1 up and one away from the set. White pinned 48 with Landman sat on 40 with the Dutchman now having to throw for the set.

An 80 checkout saw Landman claim a set back at 2-1 down. He missed bull for a 161 and White chased round the board for double three.

White took a break to begin the fourth set and averted the comeback on double 16 to win through.
